This is where I'm staying! It really is this gorgeous …
I’m here, the Pacific just a few hundred meters from my balcony. Quietly lapping waves, a pool steps to the right, my son and husband happily ensconced for a few hours of quiet time. It’s raining gently, the wifi is working and I get to write a post! Yay!
I blog for ActivewearUSA.com, FitStudio.com and FeelGooder.com. I was prioritizing their posts because, well, they pay me … (actually FeelGooder is a labor of love, they just have such a great site.) I wrote a whole bunch of stuff before I left, then was thinking I could write on the plane to Costa Rica (no such luck, I was traveling with my distracting son.)
So here I am and I missed a day on my blog due to spotty wifi and I’m annoyed! I’ve got some much to tell you! Burning calories while playing at the beach, fun exercises in the pool that really work your legs and arms. Being adventurous on vacation (horseback riding to waterfalls?! ~ for a city girl this is big!) Being adventurous in the grocery store. Luckily I know some Spanish but that doesn’t mean I know what to do with a mango once I actually get my hands on one.
A Question for Bloggers
When you’re on vacation do you blog? Or do you write entirely ahead of time so you can just kick back and enjoy life? What about all the promoting of the posts? Do you use TweetLater and schedule stuff out in advance or do you hop on for a few minutes every day to check in and see how the world is doing? Or do you just say, to heck with it and not post at all while you’re away … a friendly good-bye for now post to your readers that you’ll be back soon?
A Tip for Readers
I’d like to share one thing with everyone, vacations are so easy to work in fitness. That’s not even the right term really, it’s just fun! I’ve been dancing on the balcony with my husband, hiking up and down some serious hills to get to the beach, playing in the surf with my son, had an extended volleyball match in the pool with my husband. It’s all been a blast and we’re cooking at home in our villa so I can control what I’m eating.
What do you do for fitness when you’re on vacation? How do you control what you’re eating or do you just relax and let it go?
Cheers!
Lisa
