Last weekend, I attended the Fitbloggin’ 11 conference. It was a GREAT time! I have been so busy this week and meaning to write an update so here it is in a nutshell. Day 1 – Arrived and checked in with my fantastic roommates! Find them on Twitter at @middleagedjock, @bodhibear, @merrymishaps. They are terrific to follow and read their blogs too! That afternoon, we had a meet-and-greet and name tag decorating party. Me with my Fitbloggin roomies. Greta, Lauren and Kia Day 2 – This day was filled with Fitness. The morning began with a 5K. Although I am...

And just like that Fitbloggin’ 11 is all over. The two-day conference totally flew by, but I enjoyed every. single. moment of it. What I didn’t enjoy, however, was saying goodbye to my blog buddies!! Wah. It was actually sort of sad. I had so much fun spending time with them, I didn’t want to leave Fitbloggin’! After running and breakfast, I attended the most wonderful session about intuitive eating: The Ditch The Diet: Eat Intuitively panel, Karen C.L Anderson of Before & After: A Real Life Story, Katie Heddleston of Healthy Heddleston, Christie Inge of Nourishing Circle and Shauna Reid...

So, I’m back from FitBloggin ’11. Actually I’m sitting in the BWI airport food court where I snagged an outlet and I’m hoping to tap out a couple of blog posts to get a jump on my week. FitBloggin last year was in March. I came back from the conference last year with a lot of passion about my blog and the goal to stop being a “cocktail blogger” and take myself seriously. I wasn’t sure if I could do it, but here I am a year and 400+ posts later. It’s not an understatement for me to say that...

This is how I felt waking up at 5:45 to run this morning: Thankfully, my running buddies were a lot more motivated. Monica, Theodora, and I ran 6 miles along the waterfront. The weather and scenery were absolutely gorgeous, so within minutes, I was so glad that I didn’t skip our run together. You never regret a workout! Once we finished, Theodora and I took a pit-stop at Starbucks for iced coffees. I swear, the thought of iced coffee always seems to me through long runs. We returned to the hotel and headed straight to breakfast! Hi, Brittany!...

Hooray for blog conferences! The Sears Social kicked off the evening. The event was a chance to mix and mingle with other bloggers and enjoy a cocktail and some passed apps. Roommate love: Beth, Theodora, and Courtney. Blogger love: Theodora, Gabriela, and Gracie. Mascara love! Tina X 2! Tina is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog! Our fearless leader: Roni! I still can’t believe she planned this whole conference and just had a baby! Clearly, she is super woman. Love her. After the Sears Social, a group of us headed to Mo’s Seafood for dinner....

Yep, I’m definitely having a good time at Fitbloggin!! Of course, I’m taking advantage of the sessions and learning a lot, but, really, I love coming to conferences to hang out with my blog buddies! I took an early-morning flight from Boston to Baltimore and totally passed out on the flight. So, when I arrived at BWI, I was cranky, exhausted, and a little bit disorientated. Luckily, I found some iced coffee and bumped into Monica and her husband, Ben. Things got better after that. The three of us took the Super Shuttle to the hotel together. I’m a space...
