Eat Well With Janel: Before we leave for our honeymoon, I want to sneak in a few wedding shots. It was a perfect weekend, amazing wedding day, and unforgettable celebration with everyone we love. The food was delish, the cake was heavenly (thanks mom) and was (surprise!) Funfetti on the inside, and our favors, naturally, were healthy and funk-y. We danced, we cried, we laughed, we loved, and we got a little more Funky.

It’s here! It’s here! Our wedding weekend!!! Feels like forever ago when we got engaged and now we’re finally about to walk down the aisle. While we’re dancing the day away, eating multiple slices of wedding cake, and honeymooning, I have some fantastic guest bloggers who stepped in to cover for me while I’m gone. It’s the first blog hiatus I’ve taken since I started this blog almost exactly 3 years ago. So make sure you click back here to read the great guest posts. See you when I’m a Funk

I can’t believe in one month Dave and I will be walking down the aisle…For now it’s just getting down the list of little things- final touches on the tables, welcome bags, etc. I’ve decided burlap would be cute addition to our tables- what do you think? Beccah and I played with the tablescape tonight- adding the burlap and a tablecloth really made the napkins pop! Then, Dave and I went to our last dance lesson at Fred Astaire- we twirled, dipped, and trotted our way through- woo hoo! Dave was the mood for Thai Hut for dinner- so I...

Gah! This week is totally messing with me. I have no idea what day it is. I keep thinking today is Wednesday, and I almost forgot about my date to drink beer with some new blog buddies tonight. Wouldn’t that have been tragic!?! Breakfast This morning, I rocked the Overnight Oats in a Jar. It didn’t take me long to plow through my jar of Vermont Avalanche Peanut Butter, huh? In the mix: oats, Uncle Sam’s cereal, banana slices, chia seeds, and almond milk. Last Night’s Dinner Thanks to Real Simple, I enjoyed a fantastic dinner last night. Their recipe for Basil Spaghetti...

We had wonderful weather for the wedding on Sunday & the bride was glowing all day long! We all waited patiently for the new couple to make their way down the center aisle to the reception … Joanna & Jeremy = pure wedding bliss Cocktails were out on the lawn on the Stan Hywet lawn accompanied by a display of fruit, cheese and crackers. Of course- we took the opportunity to take some more photos Then, we all walked into the reception… In no time at all- it was time to cut the cake!
On Sunday, we started our morning off with a fantastic breakfast at the Sweet Pea Café. We found this place on yelp, as we were looking for local breakfast joints other than high priced place in our hotel. Sweet Pea came highly recommended by the locals as a great place to get some ‘grub’ in the morning. I decided on the California omelet which was filled with avocado, tomatoes, cheddar and fresh basil. It powered my morning well. We headed back to the hotel and I took a quick swing up to the ‘bride suite’ to see how my wonderful...

Jo & Jeremy’s wedding weekend started off with a bang at the rehearsal dinner. Dave and I snapped this cute shot when we first got there Due to Jo’s sister and father being gluten free – I was able to jump on the bandwagon and eat GF all weekend long! How cute was this idea to put what you ordered on the flower pot!?! Before dinner we were all ‘hamming’ it up for the camera … ok maybe it was just Dave, Ali, Jay and I -we were having fun though! But then it was on to the meal…...

Up… Up & Away… Dave and I are off to Akron, Ohio for my college friend- Joanna’s wedding. I took some shots from the sky … what a sight! For breakfast I picked up this breakfast bowl at The Burrito Place at the Logan airport: eggs, salsa, black beans, and cheese. I also picked up a trashy mag(you gotta have one when you’re flying) and The Help(I can’t wait to read this one!). Our traveling buddies, Ali & Jay, and Dave & I decided to stop by Lockview for lunch. Alas, they were not open so we went down the...

Beth’s bachelorette was a huge success! (I’m still laughing about funny things that happened last night.) The bride-to-be definitely enjoyed her special night out! I arrived in Newport just in time for Happy Hour, which included a plethora of drinks, appetizers, and desserts. How adorable are these cookies!?! After a couple of hours of eating, drinking, and being merry, everyone gathered for a few bachelorette games. The first was a lingerie clothing line for the bride-to-bed. Everyone purchased a little something for Beth, and then she tried to guess who gave her each piece based on the style, color, etc. Once...
