Welcome!
It was just one year ago that I made a decision that would forever change my life. Hidden in my mail that day was a pamphlet from the CCFA and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many. Even I could not have guessed that the very year I chose to run for a cure would be the year I also became a patient!
After nearly 11 years of suffering with what was misdiagnosed as IBS, I finally have an answer. With the help of a phenomenal GI doctor and the most amazingly supportive family and friends a girl could have, I made it through what I hope will be the hardest time of my life. This year, the 13.1 miles I will run for the CCFA and Team Challenge have even more meaning to me! In addition to participating as a runner in the CCFA Half Marathon Training Program this season, I am honored to announce that I will also be a Team Challenge mentor! I am so pleased that I will be able to help guide new team members with training, fundraising, and giving their all!
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic, and often times painful, diseases that attack the digestive system. Collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), over 1.4 million Americans suffer from Crohn’s and colitis, for which there is no cure. The mission of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.
The CCFA needs your help! There are so many people suffering from these debilitating and incurable diseases, every single dollar gets us one step closer to a cure. Please consider making a fully tax deductible donation today.
