Good morning! I woke up with a bad sore throat. I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into anything serious. I hate being sick. I took tussin to keep the sickness away. It better work.
Last night I met up with a friend for dinner at Acapulcos in Quincy, MA. Acapulcos is a family run Mexican restaurant with locations in Quincy, Beverly, Enfield, Framingham, Franklin, Milford, Needham, Norwood, Stratford, Sudbury, and W. Yarmouth. So no matter where you live, you can get your Mexican fix. I’m not a huge fan of Mexican food, but my friend was and I’m not all that picky, so Mexican it was. To be honest, I’ve been seeing fish tacos on a lot of blogs lately so I was kind of excited to be going somewhere to get some of my own. I perused the menu just to make sure nothing else jumped out at me, but after reading the description (three soft flour tortillas with marinated grilled cod fish served with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and onions with a white sauce) I went with my gut and ordered the fish tacos.
The tacos were delicious! The fish was grilled fresh with just a moderate amount of spice and the tortillas were perfectly warmed. What I liked the most about the dish was that it was extremely light. A lot of Mexican food I’ve had has had grease dripping off it and all over the plate. I left full, but not in a disgustingly full way. If that makes any sense. I highly recommend checking out Acapulcos for your next Mexican fix.

Today’s Thursday and we know what that means….Three Things Thursday! If you’re new to the blog, this is a post where I list three things that are annoying me this week. Basically, I whine about my white people problems. You get your chance in the comments.
1. My Roommates. Okay, I told you guys last week about being bored, lonely, blah blah blah. Well, I’m getting over that, but now we have a new roommate. The guy that owns the house texted me the other day saying we’d have a new roommate starting that night. When I got home the guy was moved in (just a suitcase as his room is furnished). Turns out he has no job, no car and lost his license because of a DUI. In his spare time, he enjoys chain smoking outside while drinking out of a jug of chocolate milk. I overheard him telling my other roommate that his “c*nt exgirlfriend” won’t let him see his kid and he’s going to break down the door with a baseball bat. So…I feel safe.
2. Forced Socialization. I like my coworkers but not enough to hang out with them outside of work. I hate work forced events of any kind. It’s bad enough being at work for 8 hours a day, but then add on three more hours that we don’t even get paid for and I want to shoot myself. It’s even worse if there isn’t alcohol at these things.
3. Gas Prices. I know I always say that it’s silly to complain about things you can’t control, but gas prices are driving me nuts. I paid 3.92 the other day. I’m trying to save money to move out and it’s impossible with these prices. I drive a Hyundai and it’s not a gas guzzler, but I have to fill up almost every other day. It sucks! I wish Obama would release our reserves and provide us with some relief.
What has you hiding in your room from your roommates this week?
