Gooood morning! Can you believe it is Thursday already?! Sheesh- this week is flying by.
Yesterday after work I headed to my part-time job to meet up with some customers. It took a lot longer than I thought it would. I was worried I wouldn’t make it to my Crossfit class. But, alas I made it
I had to change so I missing the pre-workout stretch, but that was okay. I really hate days that are a rat race like that and it has been that way all week so far. But, as soon as I started working out all of the aggravation and stress sweated melted away.
Once I arrived at class, all changed and ready to go I got a really nice surprise! Lisa came over and introduced herself (!!!!!!). I have been wanting to meet Lisa for a long time! She has been a reader for a while, is a great blogger and is also the girlfriend of a friend of mine from growing up. Honestly it is kind of a wonder it took us this long to meet. She is so nice and so easy to talk to. We kind of clicked right off the bat- it is like we already knew each other because well, we kind of do. Thank you, blogging ![]()
The workout looked like this:
Strength:
5 x 5 deadlifts and 5 x 5 overhead squats. It was my first real workout since my half marathon on Saturday. My hips felt tight, but I worked as hard as I could.
- Overhead Squat- I maxed out at 35 pounds. Holding the bar up over your head makes it so much more difficult than you would think. I couldn’t do more weight and get low enough to keep good for, so that was my max.
- My form has improved pretty well with the dead-lifts. I used have the worst form ever! My form is really good on the way down, it is coming back up that I am still working on. Dead-lifts- a work in progress. Lisa and I shared a bar and we maxed out at 115lbs. The trainer thought we could do about 20 more pounds than that. Lisa and I think he is a lunatic! (Kidding- he is actually very nice, informative and motivating
).
Workout of the Day:
As many rounds as possible in 15 minutes
- 10 toes to bar – these are getting better for me now that I am getting better at kipping. I could get my left leg all the way up, but my right one is not feeling it. Lisa and I were laughing that we had the same issue with it- same leg and everything!
- 10 push ups- I did my first 2 sets regular and my last 3 on my knees.
- 10 plate jumps- I am too clumsy for these and need to take it slow!
- 10 ring rows- these are kind of my favorites!

I did about 4 and a half rounds. Not too shabby
I didn’t do any Crossfit last week in preparation for my half, but you know what?! My hands must have callus memory because after one day back at Crossfit- they are already calused up again!
When I arrived home, that lovely man I married had dinner already made! I had a homemade turkey burger with laughing cow and pickles on a whole wheat and flax sandwich thin and sweet potato fries with all natural ketchup for dipping.

But wait- there’s more (said in my best game show host voice). My friend Kevin was at our apartment earlier in the day hanging out with Adam and he brought me a treat! Feast you eyes on arguably my favorite summer beer of all time! Magic Hat Summer Wacko!

It is delicious, original and best of all PINK!I had one with my dinner.
Adam and I spent an hour or so watching a little TV before hitting the hay.
Breakfast this morning was two whole wheat waffles with natural peanut butter and banana slices with a cup of coffee.

Today’s outfit (which is admittedly boring):

- Tan pants (hand me downs from a friend)
- Light pink cardigan (Old Navy)
Shoes:

Brown flats (Steve Madden). Does the bow on my shoe make my outfit less boring?!
What is your favorite summer beer, wine or cocktail?
