Post-Race NYC Evening!

Saturday after the race, all I wanted to was take a nice hot shower and see the city. My body was sore and a little swollen- I noticed right away that my jeans, shoes and rings were tight.

We went to Rock Center Cafe to get a light meal and a victory beer!!!!! I got the spring veggie soup. I wanted something salty! It was basically just veggies and broth and a whole wheat roll.

I also had my victory beer! I choose a Stella, delicious and crisp!

After “Lunch” walked around the city a bit more. Adam really wanted to see the skating rink and I wanted to walk around 30 Rock. FFF Mom and I had a certain place in mind we wanted to go to.

Even since our last trip to NYC, FFF Mom and I have been obsessed with Magnolia and if you have ever had one, you know why!

These two had never had one and were wondering what the hype was all about!

They soon tasted the glory of Magnolia and completely understood!

Mine was the vanilla with chocolate frosting and sprinkles you see in the top middle and it was divine!

We also headed down to 5th avenue were I got really excited and drooled over clothes, shoes and handbags in window displays that I could never afford.

Since we had just run 13.1 Adam and I wanted to refuel with some protein. We had dinner around 6pm at Del Frisco’s Steakhouse.  I rarely eat red meat, usually about 2-3 times a year total and Saturday was the perfect day for it. FFF Dad and I split a crab cake for an appetizer.

This is the first time I have ever had a crab cake that was all crab and no filler and it was awesome, dad and I loved it!

For my meal I odered the smallest (8 oz.) filet they had cooked medium.

I ate about 3/4 of it and took a sampling of the sides. Sorry so blurry, I was starving after burning all those calories I think my hand were shaking.

Mac and cheese, potatoes, mushrooms and creamed spinach. The meal was awesome. I loved all the sides (especially the mac and cheese :))and the streak was simply perfect. One of the best meals I had had in months!!!I had no room for dessert!!!!

After dinner we headed to the theater to see Chicago. I was super excited, after seeing the movie a few years ago, I was always interested in seeing the show and it did not let me down. The show was great, high-energy and the singing was incredible!

Adam and I spent the night on town, have a few drinks, celebrating our athletic accomplishment and enjoying time together. I heart NYC !!!!

Except for the Yankee, of course
