The 30 Day Challenge: Day 16

Perseverance is a tricky thing.  If you’re striving for a new thing and you’re not 100% perfect have you failed?

Of course not.  Perseverance is about pushing forward despite obstacles, despite failures.  Olympic athletes goof off.  High level athletes lose their focus.  Sometimes the trip up is physical, a nagging injury that doesn’t quite sideline them but keeps them from their best.  The frustration of those around them holding them back.  The mindgames they play on themselves to lose their edge.

We can all name top athletes and other people at the top of their niche who have faltered, and we can also point to those who have fallen into the dirt face first, gotten back up, dusted themselves off and succeeded.

It’s very possible.  If you’ve faltered you can do it too.

  1. Admit where you went wrong.
  2. Assess the damage.
  3. Figure out what you learned
  4. Come up with a new plan
  5. Start again.

It’s that simple.  That’s all it takes.  A 30 Day Challenge is a learning process, if it were a snap it wouldn’t take 30 days to do it right?

What have you learned so far?
