Personal integrity. I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. There have been huge transitions in my life in the past year. I moved my home, I completely changed my business, first expanding it and then changing course and downsizing to one larger location. It’s been a lot.
These changes were decisions that I made and they effected a good number of people. Clients, employees, business partners all were effected as I tried to right size my life. They didn’t get a choice about the changes I made, they had to go along with it whether they wanted to or not.
I found some people to be gracious, some people embraced the change and actually improved things for themselves. Some people were rather resentful and sought to keep the status quo despite the fact that wasn’t an option on the table. I found that those with the most personal integrity thrived despite what was happening and those with the least grew resentful and lost ground.
So when you’re going through this challenge think about your own personal integrity. You are deciding to make this change, it was important enough to you to start this journey. It will be your own personal integrity that will end this journey successfully. After all 30 days is a drop in the bucket for all the days of your life. The goal here is to learn some lessons, become a bit wiser, and be an ever-so-slightly better person than you were before.
Where’s your personal integrity? Are you resenting the journey, cheating a little at the corners? Ignoring it all together? Time to get honest with yourself and if you need to make adjustments do so now.
Let me know how you’re doing,
Cheers,
Lisa
