I’m not so convinced that I’m ready to see Santa at the mall, as Annie and I did today, so we hung out at Nordstrom’s (they refrain from holiday decor until after Thanksgiving). Not that Annie and I belong anywhere near a store, as our attention span is limited when shiny objects (shoes) and other colorful treats (cashmere sweaters) surround us. So, we browsed through some shoes, and then made a beeline for the door. Whew! That was a close one! So we head home in hopes to make a dessert for our family dinner that we’re going to tonight. Not sure what to make, so I’ll peruse through some blogs to get suggestions.
Having read The Small Boston Kitchen for so long now, I always turn to Katie first. And of course, there I found several ideas. The first being a Fruit and Cheddar Tart. Or, I look to Megan from Delicious Dishings, and thankfully, I find it something quick and I have all the ingredients!! Pumpkin Cupcakes with Maple Frosting! Thank you Megan! Annie and I have to get baking!
Of course I have ignored the leaves all week, and know that means tomorrow will be spent raking and bagging. And, likely, alone. My family calls me “Helga the Landscaper” when I get out in the yard. I take it as a compliment. Oh, I am sure Helga will have her workgloves on in full force tomorrow.
But if you’re looking for something fun to do, rather than listen to my ranting about baking and raking, the Boston Mamas always list the best things to do, and Boston Central always lists free stuff to do.
So go, have fun. Ignore the leaves for just another day!
Stay healthy, be fit, and have fun!
