What the Twelve Days of Christmas Mean to Me

Each night my daughter sings this to me before she goes to bed. And I have to admit, it’s kind of growing on me.  I mean, have you really listened to what this person received from their “True Love”?

Let’s analyze this from my perspective shall we:

Ok a partridge in a pear tree, is just fine with me, as long as it saves some pears for me.

Two turtle doves, fine, just don’t poop  on my true love.

Three French Hens, are we going to eat these or leave them in their pen?

Four calling birds, really, I don’t need any more thought of turds.

Five Golden rings – ‘nuf said, bring it.

Six geese a layin’ as long as these are golden eggs I’m stayin’.

Seven Swans a swimmin’ – who doesn’t love a good swan a swimmin’ especially in Public Garden?

Eight maids a milkin’ I hope this is no-fat!

Nine ladies dancing – why would I want nine other girls dancing around my true love?

Ten lords a leaping – ok, they can take turns dancing with the nine ladies

Eleven pipers piping – this might be time for earplugs.

Twelve drummers drumming – yeah, if these guys and the pipers are from a rock band, I’m in.

Stay healthy, be fit and have fun!
