Hello Mamas,
Well the answer to that question is if it is good enough for the catwalk at Boston Fashion Week this year I would say, that would be a YES! The Mamas and I have talked about doing a post on consignment shopping for sometime now and since I ventured there the other day to give it a whirl I thought I would write the post. Months ago I visited a consignment store in my home town called Modern Exchange. There I scored a pair of Paige Jeans for $39! Normally these jeans retail for $189! I also scored a really cute Blazer never been worn as it had the tags still on it.
I believe consignment stores have gotten a bad rap in the past. To me they are the best way for fashionistas to do their part and recycle. What I learned from my experience is that they only take items that have been gently worn and love to see high ticket items come through their doors for that is the treasure everyone is looking for. Something new with a designer label at a steal is the ultimate score!
This past monday I arrived at D&C Consignment in Dedham Ma located near Legacy Place. As they were going through my clothes I was going through theirs and what finds. Armani, Chanel, Betsy Johnson, Louie Vuitton……..

Out with the old favorites of mine and in with the new……..

I found this suede skirt, perfect color for spring! Sold to the Newbie!

Gucci Belt Ladies?

Armani slacks to work?

Love this dress, very unique and pretty.

On a shoe string budget but always wanted designer jeans? Here you go Mamas!
The staff was extremely helpful and kind and I enjoyed talking to them, in fact I found out they are having a Fashion Show this saturday night from 6-10 at their Dedham store they will be featuring two different designers, with a DJ and two live performers. There is a $10 cover and proceeds will go to benefit the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.
I will let you know in 90 days how much I made by consigning my clothes. Hopefully enough to buy a High Definition Camera! Lol!!!
Xo Kimberly
