  • I love supporting the businesses of friends and family, so last year, when I learned that my high school pal Ashley was an Arbonne consultant, I started purchasing my FC5 skin care products from her. And when Ashley found out I was pregnant, she sent me Arbonne’s Baby Care Set. Not only was I touched by this kind gift, but since Violet’s birth, I’ve been happy to discover that I dig these products for Violet (save the body oil, which I haven’t yet had occasion to use) just as much as I do the FC5 collection for myself. As I...

  • After getting the green light from my midwife at my 6 week postpartum visit, I was happy — and found it surprisingly comfortable — to get back in the running groove. And whether you’re a new runner or are returning to the sport (in either case, I recommend the Couch to 5K plan), how cool is it that as part of my Giveaway Goodness series, the kind folks at SKECHERS want to gift one of you fabulous readers with their new technical running shoe — the ProSpeed — in honor of National Running Day? I have yet to try out...

  • hiiiiii mamas!! Hope you're enjoying one of the best weekends of the year! One of the best because it's the gateway to summer-finally! Also, because how 'bout them Bruins?! Did someone say Stanley Cup? And also because 8 years ago I gave birth to my now 8 year old daughter Payton.  She's little, and in the middle (of the three sisters), but as feisty as they come!  Last night she requested lobster and steamers for her birthday dinner. Yes.  She's 8.  And to prove it for her breakfast? Mom's famous doughnut cake…. enjoy your weekend, and don't forget to check...

  • As a foodie and person who is hugely grateful that our family manages to convene for dinner almost every night, it’s been fun to be part of the Mom’s the Word on Dinner conversation series via Momversation. The series has covered a range of topics such as odd eating habits, involving kids at mealtime, funny dinner moments, meal planning, what dinner means to family, and table manners (you can check out all of these video conversations at the Ragú® Facebook page). And now that it really feels as if the warm weather is here (and Memorial Day is coming up!),...

  • Hey Mamas! Wow! We are just now recovering from last week! And our girls weekend in Nantucket wasn't exactly restful, truth be told! Work continues on our website, and as usual we are running fashionably late on our debut.  It's turning out to be more of a project than expected and when the going gets tough, the tough turn to No000!  Not the bottle! Shopping!  That's actually a photo from a very fun night out apres Fashion Show (that went super duper well) at our good friend Maryanne Kondraki's Contrary Boutique.  She knows us-she had plenty of food, fashion, and...

  • Fact: kids can be picky eaters (I know plenty of adults who are picky eaters too). That hasn’t stopped me from introducing my boys to a wide range of flavors. I’m a true believer that we don’t need to dumb-down a dish in order for our kids to eat it. We’ll go out for dim sum one day, pork tenderloin with rhubarb chutney the next, followed by paella. I’m not going to say my kids eat everything (’cause they don’t).  But they will almost always try whatever we put in front of them. And more often than not, they are...

  • Ever since Laurel became upwardly mobile, I couldn’t help but notice the proliferation of Crocs on kids, but Laurel never showed much interest (save the collecting potential of jibbitz) due to her desire for all things girly. And apparently it’s amazing what a flower cut out and the right colors can do. I recently received a pair of Crocs Chameleons Shirley Girls to test out with Laurel and she pretty much wore them for three days straight out of the box. Comfortable (Laurel immediately tore down the sidewalk as soon as she put them on) and girly, the additional hit...
