I survived! I didn’t pass out or say anything really weird (or embarassing) at my book signing last night!

But, seriously, my book signing went really well—much better than expected, and I had a lot of fun, which says something since public speaking is the bane of my existence.
The evening started with dinner at the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse with Mal and my sister.

Before my book signing, I was insanely nervous, so I ordered a Honker’s Ale for some liquid courage and wrote down some talking points in preparation. (Both of these thing equally helped me get through my talk at the book signing.)

A little before 7:00 PM, I headed over to the Brookline Booksmith for the signing. When I arrived, I was happy to see a really great turn out— about 50 people came to the event!

Before I knew it, I was standing at the podium in front of the crowd. The first few minutes of my talk were a little rough, but, eventually, I got into a grove. I read a passage from my book about my relationship with the scale and then opened it up for questions.

We had a great Q & A session! I loved that so many questions were asked!

After about 30 minutes of Q & A, it was time to sign books. My mom brought adorable carrot-shaped sugar cookies from Concord Teacakes for those who attended my signing.

Signing books was a lot of fun. I really loved meeting and chatting with my readers.

After the book signing, Mal, Theodora, and I headed to The Publick House. Theodora hadn’t eaten dinner yet, and I was definitely ready for a beer!

What a night! The three of us didn’t get home until well after midnight, but a lack of sleep was totally worth it. I had an absolute blast last night!
Thanks to everyone who attended my book signing last night. It meant a lot to see so many people there supporting me.
