Guest Post: At-Home Cardio Circuit From How Sweet Jess

Hi MelissaNibbles readers! I’m Jessica from How Sweet It Is.

I’m here to share one of my favorite workouts with you today. Since I spend the majority of my days elbow deep in butter and flour, it seems only natural that I spend the rest of my time in the gym. Luckily I enjoy bacon and exercise equally. Almost.

Below is one of my go-to at-home workouts. Some days I just have zero desire to go to the gym. Other days I really don’t have time, but I like starting my morning off with a workout because it helps wake me up and sets the tone for the day. This also makes for a great travel workout because you don’t need any weights, resistance bands or other workout accessories.

I often follow the workout exactly as stated, but occasionally I feel like I’d rather swallow nails than do burpees or squat jumps. If that’s the case, I’ll just substitute in another cardio-like move, such as jumping jacks or jump rope or even replace it with something like a 60 second wall sit. It gets the job done!

I repeat this circuit 2-3 times, depending on the day.

50 jumping jacks
20 alternating lunges
10 tuck jumps
20 squats
60 seconds of high knees
10 squat jumps
10 burpees
60 seconds of simulated jump rope
20 seconds of mountain climbers
25 pushups
60 second plank hold
REPEAT

The key is to keep moving and aim at keeping your heart rate up the entire time. Of course, take a break if needed and have fun!
