B&B Surf Spray

Hello! How is your Monday going? Mine is pretty good. My day started off with a smoothie. This one was only a little big green this time! I have decided to switch up my recipe for smoothies since I have been drinking the same old green monsters for over 2 years now.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the not as green but still delicious monster“!

What’s in it? Ok- here is the  list…it’s a long one:

  • 1 banana
  • organic fat free milk
  • a few spoonfuls of  non-fat vanilla yogurt
  • fresh blueberries
  • fresh strawberries
  • spinach (of course!)
  • Vanilla protein powder
  • flax seeds
  • ice

It was so delicious and a welcomed change for sure! I think this will be my summer smoothie! It is perfect for that extra fuel I will need to make it through my first day working the extended hours.

Lunch was easy. I grabbed some of the leftovers from Friday night out of the fridge and also had a side salad of just spring mix and half of a cucumber that needed to get used or tossed and some light Italian dressing.

The gnocchi was so much better after sitting in the fridge for a few days. If you can believe it…there are even more leftovers too!

Today’s Outfit:

  • Black deep v-neck kimono dress (TJ Maxx)
  • Jade drop earrings (Stella and Dot)
  • Black gladiators (TJ Maxx)

I wrote about buying Bumble and Bumble’s surf spray on Saturday.  I got a few questions and e-mails about it so I thought I would do a little post about it.

I have naturally wavy hair. It’s not straight although it always looks like it is to you guys (ah! the magic of styling tools and products!). So in the summer when it is too hot to blow out or straighten, I love letting it air dry. It is good because I am not dripping sweat before I even leave the house and it is a really nice break for my poor hair. However, leaving my hair to it’s on devices when air drying would result in me looking kind of like this:

Ha! That is actually me on my wedding day.  For those of you new to the blog, I don’t want you to get worried. I ended up looking like this when they were done:

Ok- where was I? Oh yes, if I let my hair dry on it’s own it will look crazy, right. So, I use the Bumble and Bumble surf spray. What it is is this: you know when you spend the day at the beach and your hair gets that beachy texture from the sand and salt water? That is pretty much what this spray does. I towel dry it, brush it out then add the spray and let it dry.  I few of you wanted to see what it looks like. I tried my best but in case you are wondering, getting photos of your own head is no simple task. Go ahead, try it out.

Can you see the hair feathers mixed in? It gives them a textured look too!

What is your summer go-to beauty product?
