Hello Changes

Hello Blogasphere, it’s been a while! I’m sorry I’ve neglected you a bit, life has been a little on the crazy side lately and I haven’t had as much time to devote to you as I’d like. Since graduating from culinary school this past May, my life has been turned upside down a little, but all in a good way. I’ve been fortunate enough to team up in the kitchen with the very talented Burger Boy and together we’ve been providing personal cheffing services to some local families, have been catering dinner and graduation parties and teaching private cooking lessons. I’ve also been taking on some clients that I’ve been providing recipe testing services for. I can’t tell you how rewarding it is to be making food for a living. It can be a little stressful at times but the other day as I was running around someone’s kitchen prepping ingredients, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement. My job is to make people happy through the food that I make. Food is no longer my hobby, it’s now my occupation and I keep pinching myself to make sure it’s not all a dream.

In addition to my new career, I’ve been hinting on my Twitter and Facebook pages that I will be saying good-bye to the current Small Boston Kitchen in July and moving to a kitchen at a location that is still in the process of being determined (I will save you from a fiery rant on how much fun the Boston real estate market is to navigate). It will be bittersweet for sure, I’ve got some emotional attachment to this place as this is where everything got started for me but as hard as it will be to leave my apartment, I’m psyched about what’s to come and I’m looking forward to introducing you to the new kitchen, which will still be small, still be in Boston and still be a place where I am my happiest.

With regards to my blog, I’ve been giving a lot of thought about what all this change means and I’ve come to the conclusion that, well, not much will be changing. I will continue to post recipes that I create from my kitchen and will continue to talk about restaurants in the area as well as share stories with you from my new life as a private chef. And as a reader, you can expect to see my recipes getting a little bolder, my voice a little stronger and the passion I have for what I do to be the common thread that ties it all together. While I anticipate these next couple of months to continue getting a little crazy before they can start settling down, I’m really excited about the future and can’t wait to share it!
