Miley’s done it. Steven Tyler has them. It’s time to trick out your tresses ladies, feather extensions have made it to the East coast, and they’re all the rage. Though, here in the Bean, no one had really caught on to the trend, until two on-trend happening gals living in Allston Rock City and Brighton pulled us into the feathered fashion scene.
Bostonistas Janelle and Kaylee first got feather extensions after attending a music festival in Arkansas. The attention the feathered friends garnered with their new locks was extraordinary, and well, the rest is hairstory. The gumptious gals founded KayJee Feather Designs in late 2010 and business is booming. Visit www.wix.com/KayJee/feathers to make an appointment to add some feather’s to your fringe. Both of my sister’s have them and they’re addicted.
Look for Janelle & Kayla at music festivals and craft fairs around Beantown this summer. Also, you can pick up some of their feathered products, including feathered earrings at Cavity.Lab in East Boston. In fact, the ladies will be on site at Cavity.Lab tomorrow June 4th, providing feather hair extensions/accessories. Bring your pet and 50% of proceeds will be donated to the Animal Rescue League of Boston!
If you’re outside of Boston, I hear the folks at Naz Kupelian Salon in Lexington have also added the rockin’ feather extensions to the offerings at their chic salon. Visit www.nazkupeliansalon.com to find out more.
