Last night I whipped up a simple dinner of stir fry and spent 20 minutes opening a bottle of wine with a screw driver. I MacGuyver’d that shit.
I was reading this article about unhealthy obsessions with healthy eating and it got me thinking about bloggers and their relationship with food. I have friends, as I’m sure you do, that don’t read “healthy living” blogs and have no interest in them. They lead healthy lifestyles, but prefer other kinds of websites. A few of these friends will look at a few from time to time because they think some of the bloggers are ridiculous and like to poke fun. Don’t lie, you do it too and so do I. A main theme that comes up among my friends is why are bloggers SO obsessed with food. I’m not talking about foodie blogs, I’m talking about healthy living blogs where if you put chocolate in your oatmeal instead of peanut butter, it’s the most AMAZING THING EVER OMG LOLZ!!! Some bloggers document their entire day of food and exercise and from what they put out there, don’t have any other interests outside of healthy living. I’m not putting everyone in this category, so calm yourself. I’m just asking is this healthy? Is the healthy living blogging community more harmful than healthy? I’m sure most of you disagree with me and like I said, I’m not lumping everyone into one category, I’m simply asking if healthy living and being a healthy living blogger can turn from a hobby into an obsession and if so, are we are all so obsessed that we don’t even notice? Thoughts?
