Hey everyone! I hope your Monday was great! Mine was okay -my blow drier died on me this morning so I looked a hot mess going to work. Luckily, I managed to purchase a new one for only $35 while on my lunch break. Hopefully it is a good one that dries fast, homegirl cannot spend all day on her hair!
Breakfast was eaten while working this morning, per usual. I had Kashi Go Lean, Strawberries, and vanilla chobani with a french vanilla iced coffee with half and half.
I didn’t bring lunch with me because I was pressed for time this morning (since it took me forever to realize that my blow drier was blowing out COLD air not HOT…wake up, Ali). It was pouring allllllll day, so I figured Zoup was a good option for me. Perfect soup day! I was sold when I saw that Italian Wedding Soup with turkey meatballs were one of the soups of the day. I ordered that with a wheat roll.
After work I headed hope and got changed for a 6pm Crossfit class. I was pretty excited because the WOD (workout of the day) looked pretty awesome.
Today’s Workout:
Strength:
5×3 squat clean- attempt new 3 rep max (I maxed out at 55 pounds)
FIGHT GONE BAD:
5 Rounds non-stop, one minute rest between rounds.
- Wall-ball shots: 14 pounds
- Sumo deadlift high-pull: 50 pounds (Reps)
- Box Jump: 18″ box (Reps)
- Push-press: 55 pounds (Reps)
- Rowing machine (calories)
The description above shows the prescribed weights and heights (box jumps). I have really been trying to do workouts RX as much as possible. Today I did the workout entirely RX! I was psyched. The way you get a score for the workout is you could the number of reps you get in each round and then add all 5 rounds together. My score was 330 and I was a sweaty mess by the end. I felt like I had been in a fight gone bad
Also, I felt awesome!!!!
When I got home I showered really quickly and picked Adam up from work. I wanted to make a quick dinner because by the time we got home it was 8:15 pm and I had baking on the brain
We had whole wheat raviolis and side salads (spring mix, cucumbers, red bell peppers, feta topped with Goddess dressing).
Okay, so I had this brilliant idea today for an out of control dessert bar and I needed to put it into action right away. I give you: Chocolate Chip, Marshmallow, Caramel Bars of EPICNESS!
Obviously, the recipe makes about 30 bars.
I started off with a value sized chocolate chip cookie dough (yeah…that is 30 oz.) and let it sit out for about an hour to get soft.
I greased a cookie sheet and spread the cookie dough all along the bottom to make the base of the bar. I cooked it for about 12-13 minutes.
Once that came out I used a bag of dark chocolate chunks and about 2 cups of mini masrshmellos.
I baked that for another 10 minutes and then drizzled it with caramel.
Um….make these NOW! Clearly this recipe makes a LOT and they aren’t the “healthiest” thing in the world. Moderation, people! I am sure I will be bringing some to work tomorrow and sharing with friends. Happy co-workers, happy friends!
