I am so cool. Actually, if you knew me in real life, you’d know that I’m rather awkward and pretty goofy. Mal actually thinks it’s one of my most “endearing” qualities, but he married me, so he says nice things like this. He knows the truth deep down. Anyway, here’s a story that exemplifies just how “cool” I am.
Yesterday, when Mal and I were grocery shopping, we split up in the produce section to divide and conquer our shopping list. On my list was sweet potatoes, onion, mango, and bananas. I found the first three items and then went over to the bananas to pick out a bunch.
I’m actually a little picky when it comes to bananas. I don’t like them under-ripe because I usually want to eat one the next day, but I don’t like them too ripe because I want them to last the whole week. And, then there’s the whole how-many-bananas-should-I-buy issue. It’s not like it takes me five minutes to pick out bananas, but I put some thought into my purchase.
Well, in typical Tina fashion, I was closely examining the bananas when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone standing next to me. I thought it was Mal, so when I finally selected the perfect bunch of bananas, I turned to him, held up the bananas, and enthusiastically said: “BANANAS!” like I had accomplished some great task. Well, unfortunately, this person was a complete stranger. Not Mal at all.
In reply, the random banana guy didn’t say a word to me. He actually didn’t even smile. I’m pretty sure he thought I was bananas. He just looked at me for a second and then picked out his own bunch. I thought the whole situation was pretty hilarious (and a little embarrassing), so I just smiled and then went to find Mal to tell him the story. Knowing me (and my supreme awkwardness), he found it absolutely hysterical and immediately started cracking up. Just another reason why I love my husband. He laughs at with me.

Breakfast
Strangely, I didn’t wake up starving like I normally do this morning, so I poured myself a glass of iced coffee with soy milk and got to work.

About an hour later, my stomach started to grumble, so I made myself the most filling breakfast ever. Check out this mix of goodies:
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup liquid egg whites
- 1/2 cup hemp milk
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- Cinnamon
- 2 scoops of almond butter

My goodness, it was a satisfying breakfast. I almost didn’t finish it (something that never happens with breakfast), but it tasted so delicious, I killed that last few bites.
